In this podcast, join ecologist Karen McCoy on a visit to one of the herring gull colonies monitored by the Tour du Valat.
Karen McCoy (CNRS) is a member of the EcoDIS project, co-sponsored by the Tour du Valat, which aims to understand how different types of environmental stress can affect the reproduction and movement of seabirds. From this point of view, the Yellow-legged Gull is of particular interest, as it is regularly exposed to plastics, particularly in landfill sites where it feeds in abundance.
Accompanied by Clément Baudet, journalist at CNRS, Karen McCoy presents the different types of monitoring carried out on the Friuli colony and what they tell us about the habits of Yellow-legged Gulls.
