This article was recently published in the journal Animal Conservation. It focuses on the possibilities of assessing the effect of management measures that promote species persistence in the face of global warming. Specifically, it does so by establishing standard protocols known as “before-after-control-intervention”. Measuring effects on a large spatial scale is important for documenting the effect of management measures on species responses to warming. This endeavour requires population monitoring efforts.
