This article was published in April 2017 in the Science of the Total Environment journal.
It presents a new approach coupling hydrological, ornithological and epidemiological data to model the dynamics of avian influenza A viruses (IAV), in the central part of the Rhone delta.
Indeed, the persistence of IAV in water plays a major role in their transmission and maintenance.
This study represents a first step in the development of a tool that will ultimately help optimize surveillance and guide decision-making in the event of a crisis.
