For the first time, MAVA – Fondation pour la Nature – brought together its current partners already involved in projects in South-East Europe, as well as other potential partners interested in working in the region. Some fifteen organisations attended the meeting in Montenegro on 28 and 29 September to share and exchange their respective experiences. The aim was to consolidate the cohesion of the network, and draw up a strengthened strategy for the region.
La Fondation MAVA, qui soutient de nombreux projets de conservation de la nature dans le bassin méditerranéen, souhaite renforcer sa stratégie régionale dans les Balkans.
The MAVA Foundation, which supports many nature conservation projects in the Mediterranean basin, intends to strengthen its regional strategy for the Balkans. It therefore gathered together its current and potential partners in the region with three main objectives:
- share lessons learned, successful experiences and contacts so as to improve the implementation of current projects,
- exchange ideas concerning possible future projects that could complete MAVA’s current portfolio and its strategic orientation in the region,
- encourage a coherent approach between the Foundation’s technical partners.
The result of this situation assessment is that each partner is now in a better position to understand the interests of all the others, together with what they have in common and what they need, and also to identify potential opportunities for collaboration with a view to strengthening the impact of MAVA’s involvement in the Balkans region.
