Research interests and expertise
My ecology research projects are mainly in the field of population dynamics. Based on long-term monitoring studies (see the Tour du Valat’s long-term bird monitoring projects), bird censuses and the marking of individual birds, I am seeking to understand the factors that explain population fluctuations of these species. The main birds concerned by my research are ducks, Glossy Ibis, Eurasian Spoonbill, Collared Pratincole and pelicans.
I am also Chair of the AEWA Eurasian Spoonbill International Expert Group.
