Research interests and expertise

My ecology research projects are mainly in the field of population dynamics. Based on long-term monitoring studies (see the Tour du Valat’s long-term bird monitoring projects [2]), bird censuses and the marking of individual birds, I am seeking to understand the factors that explain population fluctuations of these species. The main birds concerned by my research are ducks [3], Glossy Ibis [4], Eurasian Spoonbill [5], Collared Pratincole [6] and pelicans [7].

I am also Chair of the AEWA Eurasian Spoonbill International Expert Group [8].
