Research interests and expertise

My ecology research projects are mainly in the field of population dynamics. Based on long-term monitoring studies (see the Tour du Valat’s long-term bird monitoring projects ^[2]), bird censuses and the marking of individual birds, I am seeking to understand the factors that explain population fluctuations of these species. The main birds concerned by my research are ducks ^[3], Glossy Ibis ^[4], Eurasian Spoonbill ^[5], Collared Pratincole ^[6] and pelicans ^[7].

I am also Chair of the AEWA Eurasian Spoonbill International Expert Group ^[8].
