My mission is to assess the evolution of the risks of marine submersion and salinization in the Etangs et Marais Salins de Camargue site. This analysis is based on hydrodynamic modelling for current and future climatic conditions, in the medium and long term. The aim is to estimate the evolution of these risks on the context of climate change.
My work is organized around 2 main points:
1 – Simulating the risk of flooding of the “digue à la mer” for current and future storms with different return periods. To do this, I have to develop a model of this site using TELEMAC-2D and TOMAWAC, calibrate it and validate it using in-situ data ;
2- Simulate the current and future annual hydro-saline dynamics of the site and study the risks of salinisation based on a hydro-saline model developed using TELEMAC-2D.
