Research interests and expertise

I am interested in approaching biodiversity conservation from scientific, ethical, and political points of view.

I coordinate our long-term study on the Greater Flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus) and the Slender-billed Gull (Chroicocephalus genei). We are using an integrated approach based on tools from the fields of population dynamics, genetics, and behavioural ecology to improve our understanding of the biology of these two species.

Current & past projects carried out at the Tour du Valat

Greater Flamingo population dynamics Adaptative Management of the Lagoons and Marshes on the former Camargue Saltworks site
European Pond Turtle population dynamics on the Tour du Valat estate Population dynamics of the Western Spadefoot Toad and the Natterjack Toad on the Tour du Valat Estate
Mediterranean Waterbird Network (MWN) Population dynamics of Slender-billed Gull
Integrated management in the Gediz Delta, Turkey Adaptive management of wetlands
Assessment of the effectiveness of artificial nest boxes for the European Roller Population genetics and major histocompatibility complex in the Greater Flamingo
