C&#8217;est un param\u00e8tre clef de l&#8217;\u00e9cologie alimentaire des animaux qui conditionne leur r\u00e9partition spatiale en fonction de la r\u00e9partition des ressources alimentaires.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"line-height: 1.538em;\">Des exp\u00e9riences ont \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9es au zoo de B\u00e2le sur 11 flamants captifs auxquels ont \u00e9t\u00e9 propos\u00e9s trois types de proies (Artemia, larves de Chironomes et grains de riz) et ce \u00e0 diff\u00e9rentes densit\u00e9s.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"line-height: 1.538em;\">Les observations sugg\u00e8rent que, contrairement \u00e0 ce qu&#8217;on pouvait attendre d&#8217;un oiseau filtreur, le taux d\u2019ingestion des flamants n&#8217;augmente pas lin\u00e9airement avec la densit\u00e9 de proies.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"line-height: 1.538em;\">Autrement dit, les flamants ne sont pas capables d\u2019ing\u00e9rer la nourriture proportionnellement \u00e0 la densit\u00e9 pr\u00e9sente. Par ailleurs, \u00e0 fortes densit\u00e9s, leur taux d&#8217;ingestion atteint un plateau et reste constant. On parle d&#8217;une r\u00e9ponse fonctionnelle de type II.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"line-height: 1.538em;\">Concernant les b\u00e9n\u00e9fices relatifs des trois types de proies, les flamants s&#8217;alimentent plus efficacement sur les Artemias que sur les larves de Chironomes pour lesquelles ils doivent filtrer le s\u00e9diment.
