The event will be attended by some of the most important wetland conservation bodies &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.birdlife.org\/index.html\">BirdLife International<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iucn.org\/fr\/\">UICN<\/a>, the Tour du Valat, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wetlands.org\/medwetwat\">WetlandsInternational <\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wwf.org\/\">WWF International<\/a>. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" height=\"200\" style=\"width: 146px; height: 200px; float: left;\" width=\"146\" typeof=\"foaf:Image\" class=\"image-style-petite-image-contenu\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/logo_agadir_medium.jpg\" title=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The aim of the 2012 symposium is to assess the status of water and wetlands in the Mediterranean, evaluate the many issues involved, and draw up an action plan for the next 20 years.<\/p>\n<p>In 1991, a first International Symposium on Wetlands in the Italian city of Grado gave rise to the MedWet Initiative, which has become a model for the protection of Mediterranean wetlands<\/p>\n<p>20 years later, the Agadir Symposium intends to assess the current situation, and identify the new issues for the next 20 years.
