In April the Tour du Valat published its 2010 Annual Report, available and downloadable on the Internet. There is another publication available: a management guide for the European pond turtle. <\/b><\/p>\n

2010 Annual Report <\/b><\/p>\n

2010, International Biodiversity Year, rich in environmental initiatives at all levels, was also an important year for the Tour du Valat. We rethought our strategy for responding in a more effective and targeted manner to the issues faced by our environment, in particular Mediterranean wetlands. The Annual Report gives insight into the commitment of our teams, on a daily basis, to the conservation de of these habitats, so precious, so useful\u2026 and still threatened.<\/p>\n

The European pond turtle in the Camargue<\/strong><\/p>\n

The European pond turtle is a blackish coloured aquatic turtle with varying degrees of yellow markings. It is one of the most threatened reptile species in Europe, above all due to human activities.<\/p>\n

This short management guide (only in French) provides information about its history, geographical distribution and favourable habitats, together with the main threats that it faces.
