Summary:
The relationship between agriculture and biodiversity is a fundamental issue for anyone concerned about nature. One response, agroecology and its various forms – biodynamics, permaculture, organic farming – which vary according to farming systems and continents, could profoundly transform agriculture, placing it at the heart of national and European sovereignty issues.
This would take into account the various environmental issues of biodiversity, climate and water, as well as health and human nutrition. But also, and perhaps above all, the transformation would come through its integrative approach, considering that thinking about agriculture requires combining questions of practices, social organisation, visions and human aspirations.
